An international patent is pending on the new design which has also been approved by the APA (American Pet Association).

As consumers across the globe look for ways to not only protect their families but also the planet, Skamper Industries undertook great lengths to make its Skamper-Ramp products as environmentally-friendly as possible while maintaining the integrity of the product and mission to protect animals from water hazards.  In doing so, the company sought a manufacturing process that maintained the UV-chemical-resistant attributes while at the same time enhancing the strength and durability of the product.

The blow-molding method that was chosen succeeds on both fronts because the ramp itself and its component parts are all recyclable, making them an even more robust product, suitable for everyday use by those pets that enjoy the water but may not be able to get out by themselves at will.

This water safety device for pets is designed to help protect animals from drowning by allowing them to get out of the water by themselves. Like the Super Skamper-Ramp, introduced a year ago, this new version is a much stronger, higher quality design and provides a safe, less stressful way for any size pet to exit a pool or walled pond on a regular basis, rather than just emergency use.

Dedicated to pet safety, the company has continually worked to improve the design, assembly, versatility and fabrication method of its larger size ramp.

The regular and Super Skamper-Ramp are easy to assemble and snap together. The side wings are engineered to prevent the ramp from going vertical more than 30 degrees when an animal is climbing out of the water.

Like its predecessor, the fully assembled regular Skamper-Ramp is 25” long but the depth is now 6.5”, providing more surface area to brace against the vertical wall of the pool/pond.  Jay Waddell, managing partner of the company stresses that “the greater overall strength and rigidity of the device results from the blow-molding fabrication process and new design. And perhaps most importantly to water loving pets, this allows it to stand up to frequent use, not just occasional or emergency use!”

Carrie Agnew, a partner of and the Marketing Director for the company, points out that Skamper-Ramp gives pet owners and animal lovers another layer of protection for their animals -- providing them with a way of safeguarding against unnecessary pet-panic in the water or death due to drowning.
